Volunteers are needed for the 2019 Erie Habitat for Humanity “Faith Build”. Churches from across the region will join together to provide a home for a family. Not a FREE home. A home on Erie’s tax rolls, purchased with a Habitat no-interest loan and sweat-equity from homeowner. Can you volunteer some of your time to this project? Can you assist in anyway? You do not have to have construction skills to help with this build, just a willing heart.
First Covenant has another “build day” later this month in which you can volunteer to help out. The date is Thursday, June 20. Russell Smith, a new member at FPCC, is our Habitat Representative. He is looking for volunteers to make this build happen. If you can volunteer your time to this year’s Habitat for Humanity Build in Erie, text or call Russell at 814.434.1909 to offer your hands and heart.
“The Home that COURAGE Built” is the theme for the 2019 build on Pear Drive. Just off of East 26th Street, across from Erie County Farms. It’s actually an addition to an existing Habitat house to accommodate the large family who will make it their home. A mother living in government-subsidized housing for several years has decided it is time for a change. She saved her 2017 tax refund to apply as a down payment for home ownership.
Then you are invited to the dedication celebration for the house on Sunday, June 30 at 3:00 p.m. Interested? Contact Russell Smith: 814.434.1909
