Leslie served as the Director of Choral Activities and Secondary Music Department Chairperson for McDowel (Intermediate) High School, where she had worked since 2007. Prior to that position, she was the Director of Choral Activities for Walnut Creek Middle School, starting in January of 2000. At McDowell, Ms. Weber played for and directed three chorus classes, one of which is an auditioned singing group. This advanced choral group performs more difficult choral literature and travels throughout the community to perform. They also travel to either Disney or NYC every two years to perform and to take a choral clinic. She serves as the vocal coach for singers in all of the McDowell musical productions. Ms. Weber also coached singers for the PMEA District, Regional, State and All-Eastern Conferences. In January of 2011, Ms. Weber hosted the PMEA District Chorus Festival at McDowell. This was a three- day choral festival and competition, which included 42 schools, their directors, and 210 singers. In March of 2016 she hosted Region Chorus, again a PMEA choral festival and competition, which included directors from half of the state of Pennsylvania, 40 schools and 180 singers.
Prior to teaching in Millcreek, Ms. Weber was the Co-Director of Music/Organist at Wayside Presbyterian Church from 2001-2007. She directed three choirs, including the adult bell choir. She originated the early service choir while at Wayside. Preceding Wayside, Ms. Weber worked as full-time Organist and Director of Music at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Erie, PA. At St. Paul's, through ELCA classes, she attained her Associate in Ministry in Music and Education. She directed six choirs, and also was the Weekly Youth Logos Club Program Administrator, which was a weekly 3-hour children’s program including dinner, gym, art, choir and Bible Study. Also while at St. Paul’s Lutheran, Ms. Weber both attended and hosted many hand bell festivals.
Ms. Weber has a B.M. in Music Performance from the D’Angelo School of Music (Mercyhurst College), where she graduated Summa Cum Laude in 1989, and a Music Education Certification from Mercyhurst College in 1999. She attended Northwestern University for three years as a church music/organ major prior to returning to Erie and completing her education at Mercyhurst College. Ms. Weber is currently working towards a Master’s Degree (equivalent) from various colleges. She continues to take choral clinics from some of the nations leading choral conductors, such as Rodney Eichenberger, Rollo Dillowrth, and Christopher Kiver.
