Love One Another as I Have Loved You . . .
In John 15:12, Jesus says, “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.” Loving & caring for one another is not just the pastor’s job ~ it’s something Jesus calls us all to do! Stephen Ministry is a ministry in which people with special gifts for caring can put those gifts to use in an organized way, bringing Jesus’ love & care to those who need it most.
If you know someone who is going through a difficult time, contact Leader Diane Ream at 814-899-6762. Our Stephen Ministers are ready to provide focused, confidential, one-to-one Christian care ~ to help that person experience the healing power of Christ’s love.
When a member of our congregation experiences the loss of an immediate family member, our Stephen Ministers are sending out a set of four
short books to the grieving person at crucial times during the first year after the loss. The “Journeying Through Grief” series focuses on the feelings
and issues the person is likely to be experiencing at different points in his or her grief. Also available, upon request, is a Stephen Ministry book entitled “Cancer Now What?” This is a practical guide for those with cancer and their loved ones. It was written with firsthand knowledge and experiences of cancer survivors and medical professionals. It covers such topics as telling others about the cancer diagnosis, emotional aftershocks, medical questions to ask, and many others.Your Stephen Ministers are grateful to the Board of Deacons for providing the financial assistance to purchase these resources.
Your Stephen Ministers are available to meet confidentially on a regularbasis with anyone who is experiencing a loss or a difficult time. For more information contact one of the Stephen Ministers: Pat Bieber, Nancy Nardo, Diane Ream, or Nancy van den Honert. Call the church office for a referral.
