A Big Thank You!
This is a small note but a huge Thank You to all who worked on The Plarn Project.
Because of you we met our goals of 45~50 mats and too many neck rolls to count. What an absolutely rewarding project this was and continues to be. I only wish you could have all witnessed the men and women using the mats and neck rolls.
Interesting developments occurred throughout Our Neighbors Place over the past fall/winter season. Many found comfort in using the mats as a mini mattress on their cots. It gave them just the right amount of cushion to help with their sleep after a long stressful day for them. The neck rolls were so appreciated as pillows and a prop to read and relax. Also, the pillow cases added to their comfort.
We received help from over 30 volunteers, plus the entire congregation, preschool children and The Kirk House at FPCC. I did learn that when this congregation is given a mission they step up to the plate of success. A shout out to The Refuge and Springhill who joined us in this mission. I hope I did not miss anyone. Believe me if I did it was certainly not intentional.
The good news is if you care to continue making mats and neck rolls we will gladly accept them as we will use all that are donated. However, we at FPCC will not be meeting as a group. We are no longer accepting bags either. Thank you for the love you have demonstrated to our guests at Our Neighbors Place. If you have any questions give me a call at 450-8468 or at [email protected]
