How Will You Plug in?
The Christian Education Committee and the Ministry Team recognize that this Fall will look different. They want to provide a
place for refreshment, fellowship, and hope…a place that offers support during uncertain, ever-changing times. An August survey of families revealed many want Faith Formation opportunities, but were undecided about the where, when, or how often. The church’s outdoor spaces will be utilized for as long as Erie’s weather allows, to permit in-person gathering. We will engage in inter-generational activities for the whole family, so kids and teens can see their friends and build their faith together.
All Adult Faith Formation will be on Zoom, so that all adults can join the conversation and fellowship.
Kids (PreK-5th) will meet every other Sunday under the Bell Tower at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Britney and Mr. Service for about
1.5 hours of inter-generational activities, faith exploration, and music.
Youth (Grades 6-12) On the Sundays the Kids aren’t meeting, the youth will meet under the Bell Tower at 2:00 p.m. for hand
bells first and then 3:00 p.m. for Youth Group. If you are not doing bells with Mr. Service, come at 3:00 p.m. We will wrap up
around 4:30 p.m.
On some of the weeks, we will have fellowship opportunities with the whole church family. On September 27 all families are invited to sign-up for the Crop Walk at 1:00 p.m. and walk together with your church family! Meet in the parking lot.
October 11: Come out for good ‘ole pumpkin carving and painting in the parking lot at 2 p.m. Youth and Young Families will be cooking and serving Sunday Suppers this Fall (see below). As the weather cools, we will transition to Zoom. Another way teens will be staying connected to each other is an FPCC Youth GroupMe Chat. Email Pastor Britney for more details. If you are not on the email list for Children and Youth updates, please contact Pastor Britney as soon as possible! [email protected]

Faith Discussion Sundays at 9:30 a.m. on Zoom:
Join Rob Baker for a book discussion on Alec Ryrie’s new title “Unbelievers- An Emotional History of Doubt.” Why have societies that were once overwhelmingly Christian become so secular? Alec Ryrie argues that people embraced unbelief the way they have always chosen their world-views: through their hearts more than minds. As people increasingly identify themselves as “spiritual, but not religious” or a “none” (don’t affiliate with any religion), Ryrie prompts us to re-think how to re-engage our doubting neighbors. Books available: Contact Pastor Britney for the Zoom link.
For parents with kids and teens of any age, monthly get-togethers with guest teachers on Zoom will be offered in September and October. Please contact Pastor Britney if interested at [email protected]
