Lent ◦ through April 20th
In Jesus, we expect an either/or regarding faith. Instead, he offers acknowledgement the deep complexities and showing mercy. How can we learn to do the same? Each week we will approach the Gospel of Luke story beginning on Ash Wednesday with “Everything in Between Intention & Action.” In the following weeks, we will approach the Lukan narrative and discuss: Everything in Between Stranger & Neighbor, Faith & Works, Rest & Growth, Lost & Found, Righteousness & Mercy, Shouting & Silence, and Grief & Hope.
- A devotional booklet and daily prayer cards are offered to accompany your journey through Lent. They will be available starting Sunday, March 2nd in the Narthex and by the front office.
- For young families, a family devotional will be provided March 2nd during Kids’ Church. The devotional is called “Bread of Life” by illustrated ministry. This is a weekly devotional for families to gather around the table. If your family enjoyed lighting the Advent candles each week, they will enjoy this devotional that helps you create a centerpiece as you journey through Lent.

Spaghetti Luncheon & Dessert Auction ◦ Sunday, March 30th at 12:00 PM, Knox Hall
This summer, our middle students will travel to a summer conference in Montreat. The high school students will travel to PCUSA Triennium. This event helps offset the costs of travel, food, and boarding for our students. In the past, our congregation has helped these students raise over $2,500. This support is a huge blessing to our students and their families. Lunch will include spaghetti with meat sauce or alfredo (vegetarian), salad, and a roll. The suggested donation is $6 per meal. As soon as the meal gets underway, the dessert auction will begin. The dessert goes to the highest bidder to either be shared at their table or to take home. We are looking for people to donate their treasured homemade desserts to the auction. Please sign-up your dessert with Pastor Britney! Thank you for your support of our youth group students.

Good Friday Taizé Service 6:30 PM ◦ Friday, April 18th
Taizé is a form of prayerful meditation through song and scripture. In the 1940s, a man named Brother Rodger founded the Taizé community, a group of monks who pray three times a day through songs with very simple phrases. It is an ecumenical community that welcomed refugees scattered and sent to France during WWII. Today, this community maintains its ecumenical services and welcomes thousands of pilgrims each year. This service will take place in the Sanctuary and on Facebook Live where we will be guided in songs of Taizé by a cantor and musicians while meditating on Jesus’s journey to the cross.
