Advent Worship Series: Those Who Dream

It's hard to believe that on Novemember 30th Advent begins... again. In Advent, we eagerly anticipate the coming of Christ, just as those who waited in Jerusalem for more than 2,000 years did. And this year, we focus on Psalm 126, "When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dream." John the Baptist, Simeon, Anna, Elizabeth, Zechariah, Mary, the shepherds, and the Magi were all dreamers. They come from a long line of dreamers: prophets, priests, psalmists, judges, kings—men and women in the Bible that dreamed of a better world for God's people. What might the Scripture remind those of us of whose dreams feel fragile, shattered, or dead altogether? What dreams may the story of Jesus Christ's arrival inspire in us that we have never dreamed before?
