As our church family enters a meaningful time of transition, we are invited to move forward with prayerfulness, reflection, and unity. Seasons of change are not merely administrative; they are spiritual opportunities for discernment, renewal, and deepening trust in God.
Transitions invite us to draw closer to God. As a congregation, we are encouraged to pray for wisdom for our leaders, unity within the congregation, and clarity about God’s purpose for First Covenant’s next chapter.
Seasons of transition invite us to discern how God is calling us to serve the Lord faithfully and collaboratively. Toward that end, at its last meeting, Session approved a motion from the Personnel Ministry Team to engage Collective Insights, LLC to lead the Congregation in a Mission Study. This process will provide an opportunity to engage the staff, Session, and the congregation in thoughtful discernment, reflecting on who the Church is today, exploring how it is being called to serve, and identifying the leadership, resources, and structures needed to carry that vision forward.
Knowing that clear, consistent communication supports a healthy transition, we will continue to share updates:
- From church leaders
- On opportunities for participation
- On times for conversations, listening, and learning together.
Our goal is for every member to feel informed and included.
At its last meeting, Session voted to name Pastor Britney Knight Acting Head of Staff and granted her the duties and authority usually assigned to that role. Pastor Britney has secured Pastoral coverage for worship and Pastoral Care for Congregants while she is on Maternity leave.
This season of transition is not a pause in First Covenant’s life…it is a sacred moment of preparation and possibility. Scripture reminds us of the hope and promise we hold:
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
As we journey through this time together, may we trust that God is already at work guiding, strengthening, and preparing us for the future God has promised. Let us continue to pray, listen, and support one another with faith and hope.
