Back-to-school time is busy for families with school-age and little kids in the house. Homework, sports, Girl Scout and Boy Scout meetings – you name it. There’s a lot going on this time of year. And let’s face it, Sundays are sometimes our only day of rest. But did you know that by taking your child to worship, you’re not only fostering spiritual growth, you’re also providing your child with an experience that improves their quality of life?
Our church has teamed up with Take Me to Worship takemetoworship.org, part of Religion Matters Erie, an effort to reduce violence through prevention. The movement is grounded in research from the PA Youth Survey that shows children who attend worship one hour per week do better in many areas of life including grades, family communication, reduced violence tendencies, lower risk of suicide and enhanced self worth.
By taking our children to worship, we’re providing them with an extended family who loves them, new friends with common values and, most importantly, the experience to learn about and know Jesus Christ. Sunday School kicks off on Sept. 18 at 9:30 a.m. Please consider making Sunday School a part of your routine this year.
