Rev. Timm High, Temporary Supply Pastor

The Rev. Timm High began his service as the Interim Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant September 1, 2012. A native of Duluth, MN, and a graduate of Pittsburgh Seminary, he has served churches in Pennsylvania, Michigan, New York, Ohio, and North Carolina, as well as working as a teacher, banker, and retail sales clerk in Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, and California . Timm is the father of two grown children: Seth, who lives in Philadelphia, and Ashley, who lives in New York City. He is grateful to be back in Western Pennsylvania after a twenty-six year hiatus with the privilege of serving as the Interim Pastor of First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant!

Rev. Stephen E. Morse, Parish Assistant

Rev. Stephen E. Morse joined the staff of First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant as a part-time Parish Associate in September of 2006. Rev. Morse assists the pastor, the elders, and the deacons in providing pastoral care for the congregation.

Joseph (Seph) Kumer, Director of Community Ministries

Joseph Kumer, known affectionately to all who work with him as "Seph," was born and adopted in the Philadelphia area. After living in West Chester for eight years, his family moved to the Pittsburgh suburb of Monroeville. There, Seph graduated from Gateway High School. During his formative years, Seph attended a Lutheran Church.

Leslie Weber, Organist & Choirmaster

Leslie Weber is already a familiar face around First Covenant. She was guest organist several Sundays this summer and seems to know everyone. When you read her bio, you will understand why—she has a lot of connections in the schools and churches of our community.

Montgomery (Monty) Service, Children/Youth Music

Montgomery Service graduated from Westminster College in 2010 with a Bachelors degree in Music Education. During his time in college he participated in many choirs and instrumental ensembles. He has had the opportunity to perform in several churches, as a conductor, choir member and soloist. Montgomery was the vice president of Westminster’s chapter of the American Choral Directors Association.

Lisa Hiegel, Director of Covenant Preschool

Lisa has been the Director of the Covenant Preschool since 2005. Before that, she taught for 5 years in the 3's classroom. Lisa has been married to Todd since 1994. They have three children, Justin, Seth, and Madison. The family is active at St. Luke Church and school. Both Seth and Madison attended Covenant Preschool.

Abby Blankenship, Campus Minister

Abby Blankenship is our new Campus Minister. Abby moved into the Kirk House on August 2nd and has jumped into the life of FPCC and Gannon University. Abby comes to Erie from Aliquippa, PA where she lived with her mother. She graduated in May from Point Park University in Pittsburgh with a major in Sports, Art, and Entertainment Management. While there Abby was involved with CCO’s campus ministry The Body Christian Fellowship. During her 2014-15 internship, Abby was responsible for the late night opportunities, sponsorships, and social media for Jubilee 2015. Abby loves listening to podcasts, taking road trips, and binge watching on Netflix. Ask her about Salsa dancing! She hopes to provide Gannon students with a safe place where they can call home.

JoAnn Peters, Finance/Records Administration

JoAnn is responsible for the Financial area as well as Membership Administration. She has many years of experience in accounting for a medical device manufacturer then financials and show settlements for the Colorado Springs World Arena with box office sales, season ticketing and customer service.

Morgan Wood, Nursey Attendant

Morgan serves First Covenant as the Sunday morning child care attendant.  She completed her bachelor’s degree in 2012 at Akron University and then served as a nanny for two years. Morgan is currently studying for her master’s in Speech Language Pathology at Edinboro University.

Jackie K. Jones, Covenant Cook

Jackie serves as the cook for the First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant.

Luba Kovalchuk, Custodian

Luba serves as Custodian for First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant.
