Rev. Timm High, Interim Pastor

The Rev. Timm High began his service as the Interim Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant September 1, 2012. A native of Duluth, MN, and a graduate of Pittsburgh Seminary, he has served churches in Pennsylvania, Michigan, New York, Ohio, and North Carolina, as well as working as a teacher, banker, and retail sales clerk in Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, and California . Timm is the father of two grown children: Seth, who lives in Philadelphia, and Ashley, who lives in New York City. He is grateful to be back in Western Pennsylvania after a twenty-six year hiatus with the privilege of serving as the Interim Pastor of First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant!

Rev. Stephen E. Morse, Parish Assistant

Rev. Stephen E. Morse joined the staff of First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant as a part-time Parish Associate in September of 2006. Rev. Morse assists the pastor, the elders, and the deacons in providing pastoral care for the congregation.

Joseph (Seph) Kumer, Director of Youth and Family Ministries

Joseph Kumer, known affectionately to all who work with him as "Seph," was born and adopted in the Philadelphia area. After living in West Chester for eight years, his family moved to the Pittsburgh suburb of Monroeville. There, Seph graduated from Gateway High School. During his formative years, Seph attended a Lutheran Church.

Debbie Neidig, Mission Coordinator

Debbie serves as Mission Coordinator for First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant.

Leslie Weber, Interim Organist & Choirmaster

Leslie Weber is already a familiar face around First Covenant. She was guest organist several Sundays this summer and seems to know everyone. When you read her bio, you will understand why—she has a lot of connections in the schools and churches of our community.

Montgomery (Monty) Service, Interim Children/Youth Music

Montgomery Service graduated from Westminster College in 2010 with a Bachelors degree in Music Education. During his time in college he participated in many choirs and instrumental ensembles. He has had the opportunity to perform in several churches, as a conductor, choir member and soloist. Montgomery was the vice president of Westminster’s chapter of the American Choral Directors Association.

Nancy van den Honert, Youth Handbells Director

A native of Illinois, Nancy van den Honert recently retired after having taught instrumental and vocal music for 39 years at the elementary and middle school levels in Illinois, Kansas, and Pennsylvania. She holds a bachelor and master of music education from the University of Illinois, along with an additional 65 hours of graduate work from various institutions. Nancy has been a member of FPCC since 1993, and has sung in Covenant Choir, has played in Covenant Bells, and has directed or co-directed Lake Effect Bells for 3 years prior to directing Gloria Ringers and Kirk Ringers the last year. She presently directs those groups as well as accompanying Gloria Singers and Kirk Singers. Nancy has also served as a Deacon and an Elder and is presently serving with Stephen Ministries at FPCC. She is married to Peter van den Honert and they reside in Summit Township

Sam Taylor, Campus Minister

Sam is from Timonium, MD and graduated from Grove City College in May of 2012. He began his work at FPCC the following August and serves as campus minister and co-director of the Kirk House, a living and learning Christian community for students of Gannon University. He has a passion for spending time with people, specifically students, whether in a more formal discipleship context or conversation over coffee.

Lisa Hiegel, Director of Covenant Preschool

Lisa is in her 8th year as the Director of the Covenant Preschool. Before that, she taught for 5 years in the 3's classroom. Lisa has been married to Todd for 18 years. They have three children, Justin, Seth, and Madison. The family is active members at St. Luke Church and school. Both Seth and Madison attended Covenant Preschool.

JoAnn Peters, Finance/Records Administration

JoAnn is responsible for the Financial area as well as Membership Administration. She has many years of experience in accounting for a medical device manufacturer then financials and show settlements for the Colorado Springs World Arena with box office sales, season ticketing and customer service.

Jenny Kelly, Campus Minister

Jenny Kelly is a 2011 graduate of Messiah College. Jenny's home away from the Kirk House is Gilbertsville, PA where her parents, Tom and Renate, and her siblings, Kevin and Angie live. In her spare time, Jenny enjoys being outside, reading, traveling, knitting, and enjoying good food, accompanied by lots of laughter with friends and family. Jenny enjoys dessert and deep conversations as a perfect way to end the night.

Julie Johnson, Administrative Support

Julie serves as Administrative Support for First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant. She is a lifelong Erie resident, graduating from Academy High School and Erie Institute of Technology. Julie brings several years of experience in various office related operations, including pc/network administration, accounting, clerical and non-profit work. Julie also has experience working with church membership data from volunteering her time assisting the office at her former church. She has one daughter, Mikayla, who attends Clarion University and her black lab Dalton.

Jackie K. Jones, Host/Covenant Connections Cook

Jackie serves as Night Host for First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant.

Luba Kovalchuk, Custodian

Luba serves as Custodian for First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant.

Tim Duncan, Maintenance Mechanic

Tim Duncan began his work on staff on January 5th as the person responsible for overseeing the physical properties of this congregation. He brings years of experience in building maintenance.

Judy Gaither, Host

Judy serves as a part-time Host for First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant.
